RYK SEQUENCER 185
A new wonderful analogue sequencer for the Roland System 100M designed by RYK. Each stage has Gate mode and count switches to set the type of note [mute, single, repeat, long] and the length or repeate of the note [1-8]. Everyone familiar with the beautifully designed and engineered Roland system 100M could most certainly make use of the RYK A185. For the moment we don know if this wounderful analogue piece will be available on the market. We keep waiting!

ELECTRONIC MUSIC - THE BERLIN SCHOOL
The Berlin school of electronic music developed during the 70s and was shaped by artist like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Ash Ra Temple.  Lovely analogue sequencer bass lines accompanied by sweeping pads,  soloing over it with improvised guitar and synth. Mellotrones, flutes and effects (EMS!) adding color. Today we have two bands that have studied this Berlin tradition with great care: REDSHIFT & NODE.

ROSWELL UFO INCIDENT 60 YEARS
During the 90´s Morgan made a song "Encounter" influenced by the Roswell UFO Incident in New Mexico, USA, July 1947.

There are widely divergent views on what actually happened in New Mexico. The United States military maintains that what was recovered was a top-secret research balloon that had crashed. However, many UFO proponents believe the wreckage was of a crashed alien craft and that the military cover up the craft's recovery.

The song Encounter remastered and encoded with higher bitrate.

FREQUENCY SHIFTING AND VOCODING
Vocoding and frequency shifting have been regarded as some of the more interesting sound transforming techniques during the 60´s and 70´s. Morgan has written a document covering research in the audiological field with these processing schemes. Vocoding and frequency shifting will be explained to the musicians not familiar with these wonderful processing synthesis techniques.

NEW MODULES IN THE VACTROL SERIE
Module A-101-1 is a special multitype filter based on an idea by Nyle A. Steiner (published in Electronic Design, issue  25, December 1974, page 96 ff).

A-101-2 is a vactrol based combination of Low Pass filter (LP) and VCA and was inspired by the Buchla module 292. The term "Low Pass Gate" was created by Don Buchla and stands for a module that can be switched between low pass and VCA.

SEMINAR AT ARTISTEN, GOTHENBURG.
Morgan held an introduction to modular systems and subtractive synthesis
in front of some curious and eager students.
Alternative methods of composing was the topic. Where is the
line drawn between a sound and a composition? Can there be a
common definition or is it up to the composer and listener to
individually define this?

DIE MENSCH MACHINE GOES TO FRANCE
Kraftwerk will play in Paris end of September 2002. They will give 3 concerts. La Villette, on the initiative of the Grande Halle and the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, opens up to "electronic arts" by devoting a first biennial to them at the end of September. The Cité de la Musique takes part in the adventure, and in an attempt to question the growing thirst for technology presents an exceptional concert by Kraftwerk. Their experimental improvisations, in an atmosphere that is both retro and futuristic, resonate with the calling into question of the "mechanical and robotic attitude of our civilisation".
