2008/09/01 RYK SEQUENCER 185 A new wonderful analogue sequencer for the Roland System 100M designed by RYK. Each stage has Gate mode and count switches to set the type of note [mute, single, repeat, long] and the length or repeate of the note [1-8]. Everyone familiar with the beautifully designed and engineered Roland system 100M could most certainly make use of the RYK A185. 2008/02/08 ELECTRONIC MUSIC - THE BERLIN SCHOOL The Berlin school of electronic music developed during the 70s and was shaped by artist like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Ash Ra Temple. Lovely analogue sequencer bass lines accompanied by sweeping pads, soloing over it with improvised guitar and synth. Mellotrones, flutes and effects (EMS!) adding color. 2007/07/09 ROSWELL UFO INCIDENT 60 YEARS During the 90´s Morgan made a song "Encounter" influenced by the Roswell UFO Incident in New Mexico, USA, July 1947. There are widely divergent views on what actually happened in New Mexico. The United States military maintains that what was recovered was a top-secret research balloon that had crashed. 2005/08/22 ROBERT A. MOOG DEAD AT 71 Robert A. Moog, the inventor of the concept 'Voltage-Controlled Electronic Music Modules' has died at the age of 71 in his home in North Carolina. Moog was diagnosed with brain cancer in April 2005 and received radiation and chemotherapy treatment to combat the disease. The Network founder met him at a press release in Gothenburg, discussing the special wonder surrounding the Moog synthesizer. He is survived by his wife, Ileana, his five children, Laura Moog Lanier, Matthew Moog, Michelle Moog-Koussa, Renee Moog, and Miranda Richmond; and the mother of his children, Shirleigh Moog. 2004/10/14 NEW MODULES IN THE VACTROL SERIE Module A-101-1 is a special multitype filter based on an idea by Nyle A. Steiner (published in Electronic Design, issue 25, December 1974, page 96 ff). A-101-2 is a vactrol based combination of Low Pass filter (LP) and VCA and was inspired by the Buchla module 292. 2002/07/18 DIE MENSCH MACHINE GOES TO FRANCE Kraftwerk will play in Paris end of September 2002. They will give 3 concerts. La Villette, on the initiative of the Grande Halle and the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, opens up to "electronic arts" by devoting a first biennial to them at the end of September. The Cité de la Musique takes part in the adventure, and in an attempt to question the growing thirst for technology presents an exceptional concert by Kraftwerk. Their experimental improvisations, in an atmosphere that is both retro and futuristic, resonate with the calling into question of the "mechanical and robotic attitude of our civilisation". 2001/02/28 NEW MIDI CONTROLLER FROM DOEPFER Doepfer Musikelektronik will show the first prototype of the newly developed MIDI controller at the Frankfurt music fair. The POCKET DIAL is a MIDI control box with 16 endless rotary encoders - in contrast t Pocket Control that is equipped with 16 rotary potentiometers. 2001/02/28 C64 MUSICIANS Kimmel Jeroen (RED) from Holland and Rodger Andrew (DRU) from England were two rather unknown SID-composers during the C-64 period of time. The syntheisizer network have encoded some favourites from 1987 by theses composers. C64 Magazines inspired Rodger to write the Skyrunner demo.
