NEW POCKET FADER FROM DOEPFER
Doepfer Musikelektronik have decided manufacturing another device that is very similiar to the Pocket Control. The newly device called POCKET FADER will be identical with Pocket Control but the 16 rotary potentiometers are replaced by 16 high quality ALPS faders (same as used in REGELWERK). Pocket Fader will be available about March 2001 at a price of about 2500.- SEK.

Kristofer Ulfves at the department of Communication at Uppsala University asked THE SYNTHESIZER NETWORK about their history and method of working on the Internet. In 1983 the Network founder had a religious experience when listening to KRAFTWERK´s 'Man Machine. This is the story behind the Network establishment. This article is written in Swedish.

BRIAN ENO CHAT DIALOGUE
On the 20th September, Garageband.com arranged a live chat event with the pioneer of ambient music, Brian Eno. Brian has shaped the form of modern music, influencing genres from punk to techno to hip hop and new age. He glam-rocked as a member of Roxy Music and produced influential works with David Bowie, Talking Heads, and U2. THE SYNTHESIZER NETWORK did not participate in the live chat,  but we have the whole dialogue ready for You.

FUTURIST MUSIC 1910-1920
Noisy, violent and aggressive. Italian Futurism proclaimed the bankrupty of an artist culture which clung to the forms of the past. The movement was launched in 1909 by F.T. Marinetti who was both a poet and a publicist genius. In 1910 The Futuristic movent came into the field of mechanical music too.

Doepfer Musikelektronik and Analogue Solutions carry on with the development of new interesting modular modules. Latest Analogue Solutions modules is a Moving coil VU meter and a new LFO module that includes S+H and Noise. Doepfer is planning a reproduction of the legendary TB303 VCF with 18dB/oct. slope, as well as a Trautonium Resonance Filter.

ROB HUBBARD - LIVING OFF VIDEO
THE SYNTHESIZER NETWORK have dug deep into the 80´s archives to find this article about the musician and programmer Rob Hubbard. Hubbard was Britain's top computer music programmer during the mid 80´s, creating sounds and melodies for video games on the commodore 64. His work was a constant struggle to coax impressive sounds out of limiting hardware.
