Here is a demo tune called "The Encounter" and was done during 1996. The idea to the track came upp when watching a filmsequence. The equipment used: Roland system 100 (complete system) Roland system 100M (3 cabinets) Doepfer Modularsystem A100, Korg Mono/Poly, Korg MS 20, Korg Kr 55, Ensoniq SQ 80, Minimoog, Spirit Mixer, Alesis compressor, Alesis midiverb II, DAT Sony TDC 3. Mastering done by Thomas Öjebring.

The whole tack was composed without midi. A drummachine Korg Kr 55 is the basic trigger device, sending triggerpulses to a Doepfer clock sequenser/divider. The Kr 55 can together with the clock sequencer/divider (A160-A161) be described as the "heart" triggering and supplying GATE-pulses to all other devices: envelope generators, volt switches, arpeggiators and so on.

The basic tempo drum was structured on a Korg MS20: an envelope sweeping the oscillators. Noise and resonace were injected to give the sound more character. The idea was to create a drumsound, which from the listeners point of view could be either a kick or a snare. All dependent on conception.

The effects sound/noise -which can be heard in the beginning, as well as in the end- was patched on a Doepfer A-100. To give the effect sound/noise a more random output, some voltswitches were used: switching between different modulationsources.

Vocal string sound, comes from an Ensoniq SQ80 and was processed through a Doepfer module (A120/Moogfilter). The filter is adding both resonace and warmth. The result is more crispier, or perhaps more muddy.

The lead "flute" which can be heard from time to time were generated by Roland System 100M. A delayed LFO, modulates the oscillators, producing a traditional vibrato.

Finally, the bass pattern were delivered by Korg Mono/Poly: the arpeggiator is triggered by Korg Kr55. I wanted something minimalistic, a bit Tangerine Dream alike.

The major influences is the ealy days of Tangerine Dream. I have always been into the world of Tangerine Dream. After interviewing him for a swedish musical magazine, I enhanced my understanding furthermore.
