Patch flowchart Description
bspatch.gif (29941 bytes) Basic -one voice- synthesizing patch.

The audio signal begins at the oscillator and flows from left to right: through the MOOG filter and the VCA and then to the output.

The KEYBOARD puts out two control signals: a voltage that controls the oscillators pitch and a gate (trigger) that tells both envelopegenerator (below) to begin creating their own transient voltage*.

The voltage from the envelope generator* (downleft) controling the VCF cut-off frequency (FcM) and tells the Voltage controlled filter how to shape and pass parts of the audio spectrum.

The VCA is controlled by the second envelopegenerator (downright). The envelopegenerator delivering a control signal* and thus opening up the VCA passing the signal to the output. The overall effect of volume is here determined.

*ADSR is the signal generated by the envelopegenerator.
