A lot of musicians would not be separate from their beloved sequencer software programs and that old-school internal step sequencers. Looking upon them with suspicious, unbelieving and critical eyes...for these doubting boys, there is now an alternative that stands proudly on its own: AiRBase99.   The AiRBase99 is a 19" 1u rack device with LCD Display, data wheel and a few editing buttons. It is full of great sonic performance at a low price.

Parameters
All bass drum parameters and the sound circuitry are 100% identical to the XBase09.

Instead of sporting an expensive knob "gallery", all parameters on the AiRBase 99 are instead controllable only via midi. For the most commonly used sequencer systems (Opcode, Logic, etc.), JoMoX will offer templates for mixer maps and environment editors.

The snare drum parameters and sound circuitry are also identical to that on the XBase09.

Additionally, there is now an analog tom-tom section that offers the extremely wide tuning range of the other XBase-09 analog instruments.

ROM
The ROM section has been somewhat reworked: As before, the hi hat and the rest of the percussion instruments are contained in an 8 bit sample ROM, which is then routed through an analog VCA envelope. However, now the sounds Clap, Rim Shot, Crash and Ride are FULLY POLYPHONIC, (yes, they can all be played back at the same time!). The tuning ranges are also extremely wide, as on the XBase-09.

There will be several hi hats to select from :909, 808, Noise, Filtered Noise with tuneable center frequency (analog, of course).

All percussion / cymbal envelopes are also analog!

For every sound generator there is an individual output (10 in total). These are: Bass Drum, Snare Drum, Tom Tom, Hi Hat Open HiHat Close, Clap, Rim Shot, Crash and Ride.

A headphone jack is present, along with an audition key to pre-listen to sounds in the studio without disturbing your buddies!

All Hi hats, cymbals and percussion can be played back in reverse.

There are 1024 programmable ram user presets and 500 rom presets! With this, the AiRBase-99 becomes the ultimate modern beat tool, which will never run out of sounds.

Planned in a future software release
so-called sequencer-macro-loops that can be played back like internal drumloops, but that are triggered as a single sound. The speed of these macro-loops will be controlled by midi-clock and BPM input. Such a macro-loop is not a sample-loop, but a little micro-sequencer that runs the internal sounds. It is programmed by midi editors in the fashion of a remote controlled step sequencer.

as in the XBase-09, the AiRBase-99 will have 2 LFO's that can be routed to the various parameters of the instruments. The LFO speed can be adjusted by BPM, midi clock or a rate parameter.
